About Us

At S&V Auto Repair, our goal is your “peace of mind.” We know that automotive maintenance and repair can be a confusing and stressful experience. You can be assured we will do our best to make it as painless as possible.

S&V was established in 1979 by owner/technician Sam Varano. Sam is an ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) Master Automobile Technician with advanced level engine performance credentials. Sam is also a member of iATN (International Automotive Technicians Network) and S&V is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Modern cars are made up of dozens of interconnected systems all controlled by microprocessors more powerful than most desktops. Most of todays cars have more computer power than the Apollo spacecraft which landed on the moon. When something goes wrong with these systems, accurate diagnosis is essential. At S&V, our thorough approach to diagnosis will help repair your car properly the first time. To aid this diagnosis we have access to the most advanced technical information and “real world” fixes. We also use a web based information database which gives us access to factory service procedures and technical service bulletins. With portable computerized analysis, we can road test your vehicle and capture important “real time” information from your computer and engine management systems to help us diagnose various driveability problems.
We use only top quality parts, and where we deem necessary, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts are used. Of course, you can always request OEM parts and we will gladly use them. We are noted for our careful attention to the small details which make your experience more pleasant and exceed your expectations.
  • We believe regular scheduled maintenance goes a long way to help your car do the same. The rewards will be lower overall cost of operation, less frustration due to increased reliability, and an increased service life expectancy.
  • We will take care of the small details that will make a difference to your car repair experience.
  • Doing the same job twice is not our idea of repeat business.
  • Quality is not expensive, its priceless.
